If you decide to walk on the LMT, you should know the following:

The LMT is a dynamic trail since it crosses many private lands between the villages, every year excessive works on private and public lands making lots of damage to the trail. The result is destruction all year long, yearly deviations are being completed since to keep the trail safe and clear. Due to few traffic on some parts and the beginning of Spring season you will notice some high grass growing along some single tracks.

The Lebanon Mountain Trail is a difficult trail in general, if you want to do the entire trail it can be described as a very difficult long distance trail, it has lot of gain and loss in altitude, it consist of footpaths, dirt and paved roads, rivers and streams crossing, walking on mountain ridges, slippery, steep descends and ascents, delicate and rocky passages, tiny irrigation water canals, water pipes and other types of terrain. In some parts of the sections you will only follow the blazing, no clear paths are visible. It is important to know that hikers must be fit to be fit enough physically and well trained for hiking in mountainous areas.

You can ask for the mobile KMZ track (Google Earth version) in order to facilitate your navigation on the trail. You can install any online or offline app on your phone to use the KMZ file. (note the KMZ track is monthly updated to ensure a precise navigation with the marked sections).
