LMT 4 Kfar Bebnine - Bqaa Safrine

North to South
From Kfar Bebnine to Bqaa Safrine

Start your trip near the municipality by walking towards the info panel. Head towards the water canal and continue along a difficult passage to reach a dirt road. Walk along this road before leaving it to the left to climb towards a footpath between the orchards and along a water canal where you will reach the paved road once again as well as finding two concrete water reservoirs. From there take a right turn and go along the paved road until you reach a water canal and then continue upward along the road, once you finish the turns take a water canal to the right into the juniper forest before arriving at a dirt road which leads to apple and pear orchards. Follow this road few hundred meters than leave it to the left toward the water canal where you will reach a delicate cliff passage equipped with chains. After that, leave the water canal to climb up to the paved road, cross the road and continue on a dirt road than another paved road than leave this road to the right on another dirt road  to reach a concrete water canal before reaching Nabaa el Sukkar spring. From there, climb up to the paved road and walk a short way along it before turning right onto a dirt road leading above a river bed.  From there, walk along a water canal until you reach a dirt road after the orchards. Continue until you arrive at el Nabi Othman shrine under the remarkable oak trees before crossing the paved road left and walking towards Bqaa Sefrine along the concrete water canal. This section ends where the canal terminates at the paved road and from there you can continue towards Ehden or go down to the village of Bqaa Sefrine. No info panels or signs on site. 
 

South to North
From Bqaa Safrine to Kfar Bebnine

Level of difficulty Very Difficult (5h30)

Start this section at the Nabaa el Sukkar water canaland walk along it to the end. Go left to reach the paved road and walk a few meters down it before making a sharp turn right towards a dirt road which  passes by a shrine beneath the oak trees. Follow the dirt road for few minutes and when you reach a junction between the dirt road to the left and an uncleared path to the right, take the unclear one and climb up under a walnut tree. From there, follow the water canal for a  few minutes before leaving it and climbing up right towards the main paved road. When you reach it, turn sharp left and walk few hundred meters before strolling down the valley towards the Nabaa el Sukkar spring. Follow the stream to the metal water canal before leaving it to climb to the right following a dirt road which becomes a paved road. Continue until you reach the turn and follow the dirt road straight on to the paved road. Cross it and walk below the road to the concrete water canal before passing by the chain on your way to the dirt road. Turn right and walk for several minutes until you reach another concrete water canal between the juniper trees. Continue on to the dirt road then along a paved road below the concrete water reservoirs. Turn right further on by the metal door and then turn left downhill and follow a water canal an a footpath which arrives at a dirt road. Go right and then leave it going left towards a covered water canal which will lead you to the info panel. 

Important to know
- There are some difficult passages on this section; the trail consists of dirt and paved roads, footpath, goat trails and water canals.
- This section is completely marked.
- If you plan to walk alone, please inform the LMTA about the dates of your trip at info@lebanontrail.org and ask for the GPS track.
- For your stay your hike, contact the guest house or the guide few days before you start your trip. 

Getting there
From Tripoli take the Sir ed Dannieh road, continuing beyond Sir ed Dannieh and Sfire to Kfar Bebnine. All roads are paved and public transport is available. The LMT is accessible from all these villages.
