MACAM – Modern And Contemporary Art Museum is a truly unique museum dedicated to preserving and promoting art in Lebanon in an outstanding setting. Located in Alita/Jbeil, the dynamic museum used to be a large factory compound and is nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque Adonis Valley. The vast nature around the museum invites for various outdoor activities.
MACAM is a creative hub that holds art contests, workshops for kids and adults, and temporary exhibitions. It also has an adjacent art residency program. The permanent exhibition, Panorama of Sculpture in Lebanon, displays over 400 sculptures and installations by renowned artists. The exhibition presents a century of sculpting in Lebanon from Joseph Hoyeik, the Basbous brothers, and Hussein Madi to contemporary installation art by Nada Sehnaoui, Mario Saba, and Ghassan Ghazal.
