Ain el Mreiseh, Beirut district
On John Kennedy Street, take the renovated Ain El Mreiseh Stairway down to Arsalan Sinno Street. There you will notice a yellow washed 2-floor house with a lovely terrace filled with jasmine and gardenia trees. Former fire fighter and diver, Ibrahim Najem has been collecting knick-knacks for over 25 years, and he has them all on display in his home. Wonders from the sea and land decorate his walls and shelves in a delightfully disordered style. Listening to Mr. Najem's stories are half the fun of any visit to this eclectic museum.
