Hammana, Baabda district

Piazza 1140 grew out of the simple idea that passion makes great pizza. Elie Aad began working on his pizza place in his hometown of Hammana on August 5th, 2020. Piazza 1140 is an escape from the day-to-day grind of the city. Nestled in the old souk of Hammana, Elie’s 250-year-old family home is now the centerpiece to this once quiet little square. With the cobblestone streets and classic Lebanese architecture surrounding this picturesque town, one can’t help but feel that you have travelled to Naples in one of the best-kept secrets of Lebanon – Hammana. With a custom-built wood-fired oven, and using only the freshest and finest ingredients, everything is made from scratch in-house.

In addition to their handmade classic napolitana pizzas, Piazza 1140 offers a distinctive menu of Neapolitan starters, salads, desserts and local and imported wine. The charming atmosphere (often with live music) is second to none and the spirit of Lebanese hospitality and Italian cuisine means everyone leaves with a smile on their face.
