Ronald Abdala

Ronald Abdala has emerged as an internationally recognized creative designer at an early stage in his promising career. Born in London in March 1979, his life has been spent in a number of countries - London, Lagos, Paris, Los Angeles, and Beirut. His academic training in fashion design was completed in renowned design schools. Starting off with the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing in Los Angeles in 1996, he then moved to Lebanon in 1999, where he was accepted at the Beirut filial of ESMOD, the renowned French Fashion Design School. Graduating top of his class with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design, he was then accepted in 2002 at Central Saint Martins in London to complete a two-year program, which included fashion marketing and experimental fashion with David Kappo.

In 2004, he joined one of Beirut’s most successful couture houses, Maison Rabih Kayrouz, as senior fashion designer. In the summer of 2007, he launched his label “Ronald Abdala”. A few months later, he launched his first ready-to-wear collection entitled X-Ray. Taking inspiration from the human anatomy, and particularly the skeleton, his aim was to glamorize the inner body through challenging motifs. The collection caught the attention of the international fashion industry, and received amazing reviews and coverage, both in print and online fashion media.

The Ronald Abdala brand was born. It has since achieved significant success and recognition as a high-end fashion line. As a British/Lebanese designer, Ronald’s multi-cultural identity is strongly evident in his stylistic and aesthetic elements. His creations represent a unique interplay of Western fashion modes and craftsmanship with traditional Middle Eastern elements and embellishments. This balance of East and West is one of the hallmarks of his style and talent, and a key element of his line’s international appeal.

Ronald is a designer who understands and addresses his clientele’s diverse fashion needs and tastes, while translating these into his particular style and flare. He is not only a young, edgy creator of a ready-to-wear line, but also as a gifted couturier of modern, glamorous couture gowns. His clients include prestigious multi-brand fashion retailers, as well as private orders for bespoke evening gowns and wedding dresses. International recognition of his talent was further highlighted in 2010 when he became the first Lebanese designer to be selected for the prestigious Maison Euro-Méditerranéenne De La Mode scholarship program, supported by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Ronald Abdala Boutique opened it's doors on May the 19th, 2011, in the heart of Beirut's Achrafieh District. The boutique holds the designers' current collection, as well as his couture and bridal lines.
