Saifi, Beirut district

Mira Hayek is a Beirut-based contemporary ready to wear designer. She was born in the 1980s and is obsessed with geometric shapes and motifs, which she uses as a basis for her patterns and as details on her garments. Mira studied Graphic Design at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. Her formal industry training began when she moved to Milan, where she studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni. She then pursued her masters in Fashion and Textile Design at Istituo Europeo di Design. After interning at the ateliers of Elie Saab in Beirut and Erdem in London, she was selected by the STARCH Foundation in Beirut to launch her first ready to wear collection in 2011.

Since the launch of her brand, Mira has participated in various exhibitions and pop-ups in Lebanon, Kuwait and Jordan and Dubai, where she has been presenting her latest collections during Fashion Forward Dubai. She represented Lebanon in the award, winning “BluePrint Beirut“ with STARCH Foundation and the Arab British Center at the International Fashion Showcase 2016 in London. She was nominated twice for the International Woolmark Prize, in 2015 and this year 2016.

The Mira Hayek brand is dedicated to dynamic women with an effortless sense of style. They seek contemporary pieces with a fun and sporty edge that can be worn day and night, fitting perfectly in their bustling urban lifestyle. Every collections is unique and inspired by vivid themes drawn mostly from contemporary to street artists. The brand stands out through its strong graphic aesthetic. Loose silhouettes, geometric patterns and colour blocks, as well as texture combinations, are key elements in Mira’s designs, giving these pieces the perfect balance between comfort and playfulness.
